What do you do when you face a problem you can't solve? I'd recommend doing the same thing you do when you're faced with a problem you can solve - pray. Someone once told me, “You can do more than pray once you have prayed, but you can't do more than pray until you have prayed." Until you've invited God into your situation, you're working in your own limited strength and wisdom. However, when you pause and pray you open the door wide for the eternal God to move into your situation. Prayer connects you with the power and guidance you need to conquer your everyday battles.
I think that's why God's word wraps up its exhortation for Christians to put on the Armor of God with a challenge to fight our battles on our knees. Ephesians 6:18 says, "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests."
What challenges do you face today? Are you worried about a hard conversation you need to have with someone? Are you facing a financial crisis or waiting for a health diagnosis? Don't fight your battles alone. Invite God into those challenges and remember, you can do more than pray once you have prayed, but you can't do more than pray until you have prayed.
