2023 Merge Road trip
July 19th-21st
This summer, 6-12th grade students are invited and encouraged to take part in a three day retreat and service-oriented road trip, with stops in Ohio and Indiana.
Throughout the trip, students will spend time as a group reflecting on their own good news story with Jesus, and how to talk and share about their experience with the good news of Jesus in regular, everyday situations. Beyond those moments, the trip will involve a stop in Canton, Ohio that will include a fun, touristy activity and the opportunity to participate in a youth worship service at First Christian Church (a youth-oriented worship service led by Clarence Hogan, our most recent Merge Madness speaker). The trip will continue on to the IDES (International Disaster Emergency Services) headquarters, on the northern outskirt of Indianapolis, Indiana. We will be putting together emergency sheds (if needed by IDES at that time) and/or packing emergency meals (similar to the food packs that CCC has hosted). The trip will conclude with a fun activity in the Indianapolis area.
The cost of the trip per person is $80. Each person will also need to bring money for fast food-style meals along the way (not included in any of the activities), and money for any snacks desired along the way.
For the first night, we will be sleeping in the First Christian Church building (girls in one area, and boys in another); and for the second night, we will be sleeping in the bunk rooms at the IDES headquarters (boys in one area, and girls in another). Showering will be available at both locations.
I hope many students will consider joining in this fun, faith-forming road trip that is sure to create some good and lasting memories with each other.
