Final Details for SICOM 2021
Below are some final details you’ll want to know for your kid(s) who are attending the Student International Conference on Missions (SICOM).
Leave/Return/Travel Information:
Pack at CCC on Friday, November 19th at 7:30am (leave CCC at 8:00am).
Return to CCC on November 21st around 9:00pm.
Destination:
Conference location: Greater Richmond Convention Center, 403 N 3rd St. Richmond, VA 23219.
Overnight location: Best Western Executive Hotel Richmond, 7007 West Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23294 (with guys/girls in separate rooms).
Schedule:
Friday:
Drive until lunch stop.
Drive to Richmond, VA (stop for dinner).
Arrive at the convention center for the first session of the conference.
Drive to hotel to stay and sleep overnight.
Saturday:
Breakfast in hotel lobby (continental).
Drive to convention center for morning session/activities.
Drive/walk to lunch.
Back to convention center for afternoon session/activities.
Drive back to the hotel to stay and sleep overnight.
Sunday:
Pack-up from hotel and check-out.
Drive to convention center for final session.
Drive toward home, stopping for food along the way.
Packing Information:
Casual clothing for Friday-Sunday.
Jackets, gloves, hats, etc. -- in case of any fall/wintry weather that we could encounter.
Good shoes for walking inside and outside.
Toiletries/showering items.
Bedding: pillow, sleeping bag (or sheets/blankets).
Access to a Bible (paper version or phone app).
Note-taking ability (notebook/pen or phone app).
Phone charger/car-charger.
Snacks (if desired) for van ride.
Money for fast food-style meals throughout the weekend (continental breakfast provided at the hotel). Students will keep/carry their own money during the weekend.
Optional: spending money for gas station stops, items for sale at the convention, snacks in between meals, etc.
Optional: Water bottle for van ride and event that can be refilled throughout the trip.
