Welcome to the Serve Ministry at the Clarence Church of Christ

Hands In Service (HIS) is people helping people. HIS functions as the Needs and Serve ministries at CCC. HIS meets the needs of those in our church family and serves those in our community, region, nation and world. Our actions demonstrate our love for Christ and His love for all.

HIS organizes up to 10 serve projects per year. Serve projects make connections, build relationships and create a close-knit church family. The projects aim to support, encourage and influence individuals, families and communities. Find out how you can become a part of changing our community.

We invite you to contact the HIS Coordinator Candi Giles, 716-912-1472  or his@clarencecc.org to get involved in any of the HIS projects below.

IDES Annual Food Packing Event

HUNGER STILL EXISTS, but it shouldn't. CCC will partner with the International Disaster Emergency Service (IDES) to pack over 66,000 meals for hungry people, on Super Bowl Sunday 2018.

Church Has Left the Building

CCC believes so strongly in the importance of serving others that we cancel one church service per year to leave the building and dedicate a day to transforming our community! Instead of attending our 10:30 service on August 28, 2016 our church will participate in a variety of service projects all over western, NY.

Church Facility Work Day

CCC considers ourselves fortunate to come together and learn more about God in a beautiful church facility. We take pride in it by pitching in ensuring that it remains a comfortable place for people to get connected to God and each other. We have a lot of fun spending a day painting, hammering, and working with our friends.

Family Promise

CCC hosts up to 3 homeless families in our church building for 1 week, providing safe shelter, warm meals and a welcoming place to stay together as a family. In 2016, we are hosting 5 weeks of family promise: March 11-18, May 20-27, July 15-22, September 9-16 and November 11-18.

Jesus Prom

The Jesus Prom is an event created to give individuals with special needs and their families a chance to enjoy all the excitement of prom night. Pictures, dinner, dessert and dancing included! Our church is honored to host an unforgettable evening each year that makes each guest feel like a prom king or queen. This year’s prom will be November 4, 2016.

HIS: Serving One Another

Hands in Service’s Needs ministry allows us to show God’s love by serving one another. HIS provides one organized and easy central platform to gather various needs of those in the church/community, and recruit people to meet those needs. Those who need a meal, ride, companionship or help moving, etc. are linked up with others in our church who are available to lend a hand.

# Hashtag Lunchbag

We participate in the national #Hashtag Lunchbag project by serving brown bag lunches to the homeless and hungry in downtown Buffalo! This year, we distributed 400 lunches and socks to homeless in our city.

Christmas Giving Project

Each Christmas season, we celebrate Jesus’ birth by providing 20+ families with pantry staples, Christmas dinner items, fresh produce, toiletries and presents for their children. Christmas is the time of year when we are reminded of the gift God gave us by sending his Son to earth. We are blessed to share gifts with others, especially those in need.
